Career Description

Why Engineering?

I looked at petroleum, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering and talked to people who had worked in these fields about their experiences.  This was absolutely invaluable in helping me decide that industrial engineering was the right path for me.

My Day At Work

At FedEx, we provide a service, which is getting your package from point A to point B.  My job is to make sure that the whole process runs smoothly: that things start on time, that the right number of workers and hours are allocated, and that the right people are performing the necessary functions.

The Best Part of Being an Engineer

Industrial engineering opened a lot of doors, because all professions need productivity and efficiency, no matter what their objective is.

Proud Moments

In a hospital, efficiency is crucial—they need it NOW.  I had to figure out how to get the proper supplies to their destination as quickly as possible [for my senior project in college].

School Days

B.S. in industrial engineering, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
